In 1992, the Organic Trade Association (OTA) launched an informal, but now nationally recognized “Organic Harvest Month.” Organic Harvest Month was initiated in order to promote a widespread understanding and appreciation of organic food and agriculture through regional and local events.
Many events and celebrations honoring organics take place across North America during Organic Harvest Month. Organic fairs, shopping events, barn dances and more have taken place over the years.
