Organic Producer

Definition:

An organic producer is any individual who is involved in the business of growing or producing organic food, fiber, feed and/or other agricultural-based consumer products.

It doesn't matter what you grow or raise; if you grow or raise something organically, then you're an organic producer. For example, you could grow an apple orchard, grow plant stock, raise bees or raise cattle.

In some cases an organic producer can also be an organic handler.

Also Known As: Organic farmer, organic rancher or livestock farmer, organic dairy farmer.
Examples:
An organic producer practices sustainable growing or livestock management methods, such as organic soil cultivation and using organic seed when available.
