Definition:
Final Rule is simply short for USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) rules and regulations that govern the National Organic Program (NOP). AMS published the final rule implementing legislation and policy in December of 2000. The final rule officially went into effect on October 21, 2002.
Also Known As: "Final Organic Rule" is used; but rarely. Most often you'll just hear, "Final Rule."
