Going organic with your operation can increase profits in the long run, but not without spending some money first. Getting certified can be expensive. There are many major costs to consider when you start the organic transition not to mention ongoing costs and some hidden costs as well.

Not that going organic isn't worth it. In most cases, becoming certified will probably pay off. However, it's smart to be realistic and know the costs going in.
