With Halloween almost here, organic retailers have a couple new organic treats available courtesy of Equal Exchange.

Equal Exchange, the nation's leading Fair Trade brand, just introduced two brand new 3.5 oz (100g) Fair Trade organic chocolate bars: Organic Ecuador Dark Chocolate (65% cocoa content) and Organic Chocolate Caramel Crunch with Sea Salt (55%).

According to Equal Exchange, "The Organic Ecuador bar's sweet, fudgy richness is balanced by hints of citrus and floral notes. Meanwhile, the organic chocolate caramel crunch with sea salt bar appeals to chocolate lovers who enjoy a contrasting sweet and salty sensation."

Both bars are kosher, gluten-free and soy-free and the Ecuadoran bar is vegan. Both bars are certified Fair Trade and the bars represents the combined efforts of seven co-operatives in six countries on four continents.

These new bars can only help propel Equal Exchange's amazing success in Fair Trade and organic goods. The company's annual report notes that Equal Exchange chocolate sales exceeded $5 million in 2008, and they approached $6 million in 2009.

Wholesale pricing for both bars is $2.50 per bar and $30 per case. The suggested retail price is $4.25. These bars are available nationwide direct from Equal Exchange or through distributors, including UNFI. Retailers can directly contact the Equal Exchange representative for their region.
